My Dad's Tumor

Praise the Lord Oh my soul and all that is within me praise His holy Name!

This morning I received a call from my mother saying that my father's biopsy came out negative for cancer! In a day where new cancer drug successes and alternative medicine therapies are in the news, the Lord Jesus still heals and hears our prayers in spite of the bleakest of diagnoses. His power is the most effective cancer drug and He is the alternative that everyone should look to.

I also thank God for the doctors who have assisted my father and our family during this trying time. God works through doctors and medical caregivers. At times their minds and hands are anointed by God to work His wonders in the bodies of His children.

I am compelled to mention that two nights ago the presence of God began to flow into our home while I was reading a storybook to Danny Boy. The topic of the storybook was about not being afraid. It repeated over and over again the Scripture verse "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." As I was explaining the significance to my son, I began to stammer in my speech and my eyes began to well up with tears. I told my son that many people think that God does not care about their fears. I went on to tell Him that many people do not get help from God because they just don't ask. But the Bible says that we can do all things if we just ask God for His help and that the people who say God doesn't care are wrong. God does care!

After we put Danny Boy to sleep, Martha and I held hands on the sofa in prayer and I put on what I call "the mind of the future." This is a realm of the Spirit. I prayed as though I were in the future looking back. The veil of time had been lifted. I began to thank God for bringing us through various things. The real power hit when I came to pray for my dad. Up to this point, I had not been too emotional about my Dad's condition (his tumor is 8 cm long and has endangered his walking ability). But I began to thank God for my dad's situation as the Holy Spirit enabled me. I began to thank God for touching my dad's body, for extending his life, and for keeping him strong for the move of God that is coming to his church. As I was thanking God with the mind of the future, I fell into a trance as it says of the Apostle Peter in the book of Acts. I saw a vision where the Lord was blessing my Dad's ministry and how He had extended his life as He had done with King Hezekiah! While I was in this trance, all I could say was "thank you, thank you, thank you." The Holy Spirit began to turn the volume up in my spirit and voice until suddenly the veil was put back in place and I was back in my living room clutching my wife's hand.

What are the impossible circumstances in your lives? What are the bad reports that you have heard? May the peace of God that goes beyond the thinking of man guard you. May you put on the mind of Christ as you pray. As it says in Scripture:

"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:7)
"For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment: "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ." (1 Corinthians 2:11-16)

The latest on the miraculous recovery of my father from his surgery to remove the non-malignant tumor!

Thank you. What a miracle this has really been. The whole team of doctors came this morning and were amazed at how well Dan did. One of the doctors came in at 6:00 AM, and told him that the whole team would be in to see him, she told him "you had a very serious operation, and you are really doing very well, I am sure they are letting you go home today".

The whole team of doctors came in around 8:30 this morning. Right before the surgery the doctor - who is the chief surgeon there - asked him again if he understood what all was going to be done, he went on to say that not to be surprised if he did not have use of his right leg, that with time he might be able to walk with a lot of therapy!

I was prepared for the worst! I took clothes to last me over two weeks as that what was expected, but praise the Lord that what the CT scans showed and what they discovered when they went in was a different story! He was in ICU for less than 24 hrs.! He was sitting up and walking the very next morning! They were not expecting him in ICU till 5:00 or 6:00 PM but he showed up right before noon! How great God is.
